Leanhaun (lee· ANN· an)
Members of House Leanhaun are often seen as the most moderate of the "Winter" Houses, for they throw their lot in whole-heartedly with the Unseelie Court. A few Seelie Leanhaun exist, but they are by far the exception to the rule. They are traditionally viewed as hedonists and rakes, fond of mortal company, and extremely vain. A tradition of musical and poetic skill runs through this House, and many of them find employ as the bards, harpers, tale-singers, and historians for other sidhe.
Affiliation: Unseelie
Boon: Even among other sidhe, members of House Leanhaun stand out as hauntingly beautiful and highly sensual. They receive an extra charisma-related Social Trait during character generation. All Seduction Challenges made by Leanhaun sidhe are at -1 difficulty, and they win all ties. Additionally, the Leanhaun were the first to master the art of Rhapsody, and are more proficient at this Epiphany than any other changelings. While normal Kithain receive either 1 or 2 Glamour Traits for every success at Rhapsodizing, depending upon whether they are Seelie or Unseelie, any member of House Leanhaun receives 3 Glamour Traits for every success at Rhapsody.
Flaw: Though members of House Leanhaun prize beauty and youth, these can be stolen from them all too easily as a result of a curse laid upon their House. Beneath their Glamour score, a second pool should be written in, which is used to record Glamour dedicated to keeping a member of House Leanhaun young. One point of Glamour from this pool is consumed every 24 hours; should this pool run to zero, the Leanhaun sidhe will age one year for every week without refreshing that pool. The effects of this aging process are removed once the Leanhaun sidhe acquires even a single point of Glamour for that pool, but once that Glamour is gone, the aging will begin yet again. This causes most Leanhaun, fearful of facing death or even decrepitude, to hoard Glamour. Those disposed toward the Seelie Court involve themselves in freeholds with ample Glamour supplies that they make take from, and the Unseelie majority of this House is unafraid of Ravaging or Rhapsodizing Dreamers to gain the most Glamour possible in the shortest amount of time. Whenever a member of this House takes Glamour in, she decides immediately whether it goes towards her normal Glamour pool or the pool used for her "youth." Glamour can not be transferred between these two pools, nor can a large supply of Glamour from a single type of Epiphany be "split" between the two pools; once dedicated for one use, it may only be used for that purpose. Glamour for the "youth" pool cannot power Arts, enchant mortals, or be used to heal damage. By the same token, Glamour from the normal pool can never be used to regain a Leanhaun sidhe's lost years. The obvious way to work around this problem, of course, is to use Glamour from the normal pool to Rhapsodize a mortal, and thus receive much more Glamour back which can be used entirely to refresh the "youth" pool. Alternately, Leanhaun sidhe may be able to physically divide dross or the Glamour gained from treasures, dipping into them twice to fill both of her Glamour pools.
