Gwydion (GWIH· dee· on)
This House is perhaps the most "noble" of all the Houses on Earth, and is generally held to have the best rulers among the fae. Indeed, this House spearheaded the Accordance War effort for the nobles, and still holds most of the power in Concordia. High King David and several of the other kings are of Gwydion. However, some say arrogance runs in the blood as well, and all Gwydion seem to display unusually hot tempers when roused to anger. Pain in particular seems to drive such sidhe wild with rage; however, it generally takes quite a lot to set them off in the first place. Lands ruled by this House tend to be fair and just, with a strong sense of protocol and tradition, but the local ambiance can also be described as somewhat cool and aloof.
Affiliation: Seelie
Boon: Gwydion fae can, with a Mental Challenge using the Kenning Ability, determine whether someone is telling the truth (as the subject knows it). For some mysterious reason, members of House Eiluned are completely immune to this ability.
Flaw: When a member of this House reaches his Wounded Health Level, suffers intense pain, or has his honor directly insulted, he is in danger of flying into one of the legendary rages ascribed to the Gwydion. He must make a Static Willpower Challenge (difficulty 7) to avoid suffering the effects of the Derangement: Crimson Rage for the next 10 minutes. He may be talked out of this rage by allies as one would talk a vampire or werewolf out of frenzy (i.e. very carefully), with a successful Social Challenge, but if the target of his fury returns before the time of rage has passed, he will go wild once more.
