Fiona (fee· OWN· awh)
This House embraces heroic passion and the spirit of adventure. Fiona fae are known for their love of drink and song as well as battle, and romance is their favorite pastime. Members of the House often hold radical views (compared to other nobles, anyway) and see their House as a catalyst for necessary change. Although members of House Fiona can sometimes be called from duty by appeals to base appetites, they are fierce soldiers when the trumpet calls, full of spit and vinegar and absolutely fearless. Despite their recent arrival and their role as one of the main military Houses of the returning sidhe, Fiona are beloved by the common folk for their laissez-faire attitude toward rank, and they have quickly adopted the cause of the commoners in fae politics. Lands ruled by members of this House are typically happy and free-spirited, albeit a bit wild and disrespectful in the eyes of more formal Houses and freeholds.
Affiliation: Seelie
Boon: Sidhe of House Fiona are renowned for their courage; any attempt to induce fear in them, whether normal or magical, automatically fails. Though they understand it, fear cannot hold them, even in the face of death. The exception is if their true love is in danger, at which point they become deathly afraid for him or her.
Flaw: Fiona fae, due to their accepting natures, are given to tragic romances with "unacceptable" types like outlaws, mortals or even Prodigals. Such love often becomes such a complete and true passion that it cannot be denied; Romeo and Juliet looks like light farce compared to some of the tragic complications that frequently develop as a result. Members of the House can overcome the flaw, but only by becoming utterly misanthropic toward the very notion of love - an attitude that will win the solitary sidhe no friends inside the House.
