Dougal (DOO· gal)
Members of this House are known for their strength, wisdom and technical acumen. The House's founder, Lord Dougal, pioneered the process by which fae smiths merge Glamour into steel to make it safe for fae to use. Members of this House tend to be gruff, practical and good with their hands. Order and precision are their allies, although they battle the Banality of mindless organization with all their souls. Dougal fae love artistic architecture and engineering of all kinds, and are often found as stewards, clerks and barristers in freeholds; those lands that are run by a Dougal tend to be orderly, practical domains.
Affiliation: Seelie
Boon: Once per session, members of House Dougal may convert Glamour Traits to Willpower Traits, up to their normal maximum. This must be done while working hard, exercising or in combat.
Flaw: All members of this House suffer from some handicap that they must compensate for, usually with cunningly concealed craftsmanship: a club foot, bad eyesight, poor hearing, etc. The handicap extends to their mortal bodies as well. Each must choose a permanent Lame, Oblivious, Decrepit or Delicate Negative Trait to reflect this flaw. However, for practical purposes, the flaw is considered to have been corrected or compensated for somehow by the time play begins. This Negative Trait can only be called if the character knows a particular Dougal's flaw, and that usually requires a bit of digging.
